Its story
Piaisutos is notable because of its remarkably slow movement through space. Its orbital velocity is measured to be approximately 27.01 km/s. The star’s proper motion, measured over time, is 5.736 mas/yr; this tells us it's slowly drifting away from the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. This slow movement, coupled with its relatively low luminosity, makes Piautos a fascinating and ancient element in the cosmic canvas. It's believed to have formed early in the history of the solar system and continues to gradually orbit our star.
Given its relatively dim luminosity compared to many stars of similar magnitude, Piautos is a useful target for studying stellar structure. Observations demonstrate its relatively low metallicity, suggesting a primarily gas-dominated environment. The star has been identified multiple times with its proper motion and luminosity and is occasionally employed as a reference point within the Cnc region. This modest brightness makes Piautos a valuable subject for astronomers analyzing stellar composition.
